Performance Notes:
Note that all chords with a "+" in their name are AUGMENTED chords.
Augmented chords have one of their notes one-half-step (1 fret) higher
than normal. For instance an F#5+ is an F#5 augmented chord meaning
that the note is comprised of an F# and its sharp 5th note, which is
a D, thus it is played on the 9th fret of the A-string (F#) and the
12th fret of the D string (D).
Bars {11} - {14} represent the main rhythm lick of the song (verse).
This is actually played on two guitars with one playing chords on
the lower strings while the other plays the higher strings of the
set of chords.
Bars {23} - {24} and the Outro are played by 2 guitars (double tracked)
using a slide, although in concert the notes are usually bended and a
slide is not used. The same sound can be generated by a single guitarist
playing the notes simultaneously and bending them smoothly together. A
third guitar is playing rythm in the background. This consists of crunching
out an Em (or more likely an E5) repetetively with a C or an A thrown in
at the highlighted points. I believe this is the only point where I
used the chord designation line to represent a chord that was being played
other than what the lead guitar was playing (that is, elsewhere, the chord
info is just given in addition to the fingering in the tab).
Solo: note that the following: ---12===(14)====(12)----
means to bend the 12th fret up a whole step (2 frets) and release back down
to the 12th fret. The equal signs ("=") indicate the bend and the
parentheses "(" and ")" signify that the note inside them should NOT
be picked. Also note that in the solo many hammer-ons/pull-offs have
been denoted WITHOUT the parentheses. I have done this to save time
and make it easier to read. Typically the hammer-ons/pull-offs
are mostly legato, or picked in triplets/quadruplets. If you really
must know the exact picking, listen to the album!
