"Guerilla Radio" - Rage Against the Machine
Taken from the album "The Battle Of Los Angeles"
Tabbed by Tim Millard (millartj@wilkes1.wilkes.edu)
Standard tuning (EADGBE)
The current tab that I've seen for this song here in OLGA is a bit off, and
has some mistakes in it. This is the way I play it, and it looks like the
way that Tom Morello plays it in concert too.
The original file was from wisconsin_death_trip69@hotmail.com
Listen to CD for timings, repeat everything as needed...yadda yadda
Key:
(b) - bend slightly
(X) - pick scrape
Intro / Chorus:
For the intro, I believe this riff is played with a delay...
E ---------------------
B ---------------------
G ---------------------
D ---------------------
A -----------------0-2-
E -0-2-2-0-2-0-2-0-----
Right before the verses, you play this small riff with a wah...
E ---------------
B ---------------
G -2-----1-------
D ---------------
A ---------------
E ---2-0---0-0-2-
Verse:
Play this with the wah, the open E is played really quick...
E -------------------------------------------------------
B -------------------------------------------------------
G -------------------------------------------------------
D -------------------------------------------------------
A -------------------------------------------------------
E -(0)-2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--0--2--2--2--2--2--2--2--2-
* After you play the above riff, don't play this note the first time
Solo:
The lead-in to the solo is the chorus riff, played with some effect that
I'm not sure of, but when I saw this being covered by another band, the
guitarist was sliding his finger on the low E between the second and fifth
fret and playing the natural harmonics, but I'm sure that Tom had an effect
for it...
For the solo, Tom uses a harmonizer to get that funky harmonica sound, but
that's about all I know...
E -----------------------------------------------------
B -----------------------------------------------------
G -----------2------------2------------2--4------------
D -4-2-4-2-4----4-2-4-2-4----4-2-4-2-4-----------------
A -----------------------------------------------------
E ------------------------------------------0-0-0-1/14-
* I could be wrong here, but it
sounds alright when I play along with the song
E ----------------------------------------------------------7-6-5-3-
B ----------------------------------------------------------7-6-5-3-
G -4-2-4--4-4-4-2----4-2-4--4-4-4-2----4-2-4--4-4-4-2-4-2---7-6-5-3-
D -4-2-4----------4--4-2-4----------4--4-2-4------------------------

Outro:
E -------------------------------(X)-(X)-(X)-(X)-(X)-(X)-(X)-(X)-

* Don't play these pick scrapes until
you're right about at the end
