Dear James,
I asked earlier this week on alt.guitar.tab if anyone had the charts for
converting std. notation to tab. I got a copy of the charts, and several
requests from other people for the charts as well. Someone suggested it might
be a good idea if I sent them to you so they could go in the archive. So here
they are......
Below are the two charts I received from Rob Craig (aa599@freenet.carleton.ca):

A chart showing the note at each fret a guitar.

Guitar Fingerboard Chart
------------------------
Here's a chart that guitarists will find useful for preparing tab, tuning
their guitars, and recognizing component notes of chords.
Notes corresponding to 24 fret positions on the guitar are provided.
Obviously, many guitars do not have 24 frets so just ignore those which are
not found on your guitar. To keep the chart small, I've only indicated
"non-flattened" notes in the fingerboard. The following table makes up for
this deficiency.
Musical note equivalencies:
A# = Bb B# = C
C# = Db Cb = B
D# = Eb E# = F
F# = Gb Fb = E
G# = Ab

A chart useful for converting from sheet music to tab, or vice versa.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guitar Tab Translating Tool
---------------------------
Here's a chart that guitarists will find useful for preparing tab from sheet
music or vice versa. This chart covers only the first few frets on the
guitar. If you use it in conjunction with the guitar finger-board chart
that I've also posted, you should be able to determine the correct tab for
the higher frets as well.
The note names are given on the left of the staff and the tab grid. The O's
represent notes on the staff. Note that this chart has been derived for the
key of C (no #'s and no b's). It can be adapted to other keys by observing
where the b's (flats) or #'s (sharps) are located on the staff and adjusting
the tab translation.
For example, the key of F has a flat located on the middle line of the 5
line staff (B note). All B notes on the staff and leger lines are now Bb
notes. Therefore, the tab would require the following changes:
A-string, 2nd fret becomes A-string, 1st fret
B-string, open becomes G-string, 3rd fret
E-string, 7th fret becomes E-string, 6th fret
