Subject: TAB: the mountain song by Vertical Horizon
                            -------------------
                            -The Mountain Song-
                            -------------------
by Vertical Horizon on "There and Back Again"

Each - represents a sixteenth note. This is to let a little space to make
the tab legible. The song is comprised of an intro/verse of eight measures
 in 4/4 time.

*Note these slides should be done with the ring finger so the index can do
either the rest of the E chord or the single, whatever the case may be.
All the slides and hammers only take two sixteenth notes total and look
longer because the tablature takes up more than two dashes. The other
notes after the slides are in their correct places in the time. Just
 listen.

**In the intro, this A is slide to from a G# a half step below.

! When leading into the chorus and outro, at beat 4 here do 24-- on the
low E. Then go straight into the chorus or outro.

 Lyrics:
 -------
 (Instrumental Intro)

 (Verse 1)
This mountain we must climb over
 This mountain we must climb
 I will follow you over
 We will survive

 (Verse 2)
 It's time now
 We must be moving onward
It's time for us to fly
Take care and look over your shoulder
 I'm there all the time

 (Chorus)
If you're lost and you need someone to count on
Oh you've got to look to me
Because it's times like these when a good friend is a savior
Oh you come running on back to me

 (Verse 3)
 It's time now
 We must be moving onward
It's time for us to fly
Take care and look over your shoulder
 I'm there all the time

 (Verse 4)
And someday when you're feeling awkward
 And someday when you're down
Come to me I will give you anything
 I'll turn your frown around

 (Chorus)
What you've done for me is more than I could hope for
 Oh you are my friend
And I'll be there for your through happiness and sad times
Oh our love will pull us through

 (Verse 5)
This mountain we must climb over
 This mountain we must climb
 I will follow you over
 We will survive

 (Outro)
 We will survive
 We will survive
